I've just changed my bath taps to a waterfall mixer / shower combo (or whatever they are called) Mrs coppernob has decided she wants the same for the basin. BUT can't seem to find basin mixer waterfall taps. QUESTION will bath taps work for a basin ? I've measured the centre's and they'll fit.

In theory I say yes but lookswise they’ll be big What are the tap centres? 180?

if the holes match and they're big enough, a bath tap is 3/4 inch, a basin is 1/2 inch, then it needs adjustment to the pipework, the main consideration is, those waterfall taps will piss straight at you, on the bath it don't matter, on the sink it will go all over you and the floor, you can limit that with iso valves on the pipes and throttle the pressure down,

It could be an expensive mistake

Might depend on the manufacturer, but I got a waterfall tap on my bath and it came with optional flow limiters that go in the stems where the tap connectors go. I thought I'll put them in and if it's too slow I'll whip em out. Forgot about them and fitted the bath panel, due to the room layout there's now a lot of sillycunt and architrave panels that will need to be removed to get the panel off and guess what - yep, it's too slow, takes a good 10 minutes to fill the bath. I so can't be arsed sorting it out though, it's a tiny room and just annoying to work in. So might be worth checking to see if there are limiters included. Oh and you can get loads of waterfall taps for basins, whoever made the bath one that you have probably also make basin ones in the same style.
