You could snake it from that long piece of 40mm running under the bath - your nice new shiny bit. If it's easy enough to pop it back together with a coupler. The swept tee down there will make sure the snake goes the right way.

I’m also going the boiling water route & drain unblock before the main stack. I don’t mind cutting pipe & refixing as I did I once already!

The Rct has smashed it again
So, poured boiling water down basin & plunged bath, nothing, poured half a bottle of drain unblocker down, plunged, nothing, took panel off soil stack, people upstairs using water so everything is wet, rodded it, nothing, snaked it nothing, plunged again, nothing. Getting pissed off. Cut my new pipe & snaked it, plunged, nothing, took pipe off basin & snaked it, plunged, few bubbles in bath, more boiling water from the kettle & plunged bath again & it bubbled then emptied
Yeee haaaaa
Just under 2 hrs
£12 for drain unblocker
Nasty & smelly as we thought.
Inherent problems in bathroom, quoted to put right.
£130 charged & paid
Chinese take away for Rct Jnr tonight for tea to celebrate my victory!

Next job is to fit soffit to make a bath panel
He’s also agreed to new kitchen waste, bath taps, bath & basin traps.
He seems to be happy to have things done properly
Onwards until it goes bad.
