He had installed something like a cylinder or summat for a custard. Only Brassoed the pipes when he's finished. What's that all about?
Also, why are lots of pipes in airing cupboards painted silver?

Haha, I always wondered that, why the fook are they silver, see it in new builds, that paint's a bastard to get off too. Yes, silver pipes I've seen have been on houses built in the last 20 years or so. Can't understand painting pipes in an airing cupboard.
People paint any pipes. Was doing alterations to someone's waste pipes under sink the other day. They had glossed the solvent weld pipes. Was aright pain to get the gloss off to use the SW to join onto them. Why paint white pipes with white gloss - under a sink?
