I'm not so selective battle, I let them all call me and I just love telling bad payers that I'm busy and can't get to them for 6 months, Asians are the worst, i'm not being racist but they are the worst, they want a very good price then they haggle after its done then they are late payers, so I don't do work for any Asians at all, I know they're probably not all the same but the ones i have worked for were all the same, so i don't even price fot them now, smiley-face-shaking-fist

Well it seems those Asians are all the same all over the country cause they follow your description to the letter up here as well so I stay clear of those at all cost.

if I'm quiet I just enjoy the free time, if I'm busy I know I'm going to be paid so the only stress is my ability to do the job and I can handle that all day everyday.

I always prioritise my calls , if a regular customer wants something done then they come first and anything else will go back in the queue , but as PB says it is hard to say NO.......you just don't know what may come from doing a small job to start with plus tom makes a good point about losing out to someone else especially these days when you have got so many of these so called" PLUMBERS " coming over in the backs of lorries from east euro land and joining the ever increasing band of plastic plumbers driving around in shagged out transit vans nicking work left right and center....
