Anyone fitted a salamander pump from screwfix? If so any tips , client wants a quote for a shower pump, but every hot tap in property is pathetic, no more height for feed tank either, so Im leaning towards boosting hot water ststem full stop, I note there is range of prices on the salamder pumps, again any info welcome before I put quote in thanks.

I fitted one recently, the customer chose the pump because of its price, A twin head with 15mm feeds to both ports, I went to have a look and the plumbing in the house was a mish mash, a diyer had fitted the pump already in place, it was 15mm feed from a tank too small and with inadequate height, So i told the custerd, " this pump won't last five minutes doing the whole house it needs a bigger, or another tank marrying to this one and 22 mm feed to it" the custerd said, " yea I get what your saying, I've googled and know you're right, but lets just fit it and see, " So far so good, no problems, so the salamander does what it says and more, good value, But I donno how long it will last for,

What’s the budget glow bug as there a lot of fixes to this pal Well i threw in a combi conversion dependent on boiler between £2400 and £2900, and he didnt likey, I said unvented will be pricey aswell, he said he doesnt mind poor hot water!!to be fair ,hes got a baby etc and hes a nice chap, So im thinking hes got about £500 to spend to improve his hot water, saturday morning job salamander, unless you know a more profitable option doc |

No pal, £500 cuts our fixes out massively
you can get a cheap pump from Graham’s or somewhere for £80 but they really are noisy. They do work well but the big difference between th3 cheap stuff and Stuart Turner and salamander is noise
if he lives near a quarry pop a Graham’s own brand shit one in, if it’s quiet stick the salamander in. Will last years.

Will last years. He did mention noise so have to be wary off that ,on pump spec, salamander seems to tick all boxes, but having never fitted one always like the “real review”off an experienced engineer, I never believed marketing 100% 👍 but saying that I think there is 3 year warranty |

there is a 3 year guarrantee but only if its fitted as per MI's, right sized tank, head,pipework etc, the one i fitted met none of the critea, so i warned the custerd and he agreed to take the risk, BUT, if you buy from screwfix they honour the 12 month warrantee, so if it fucks up in the first year, you take the pump off take it back, and give you a replacement no question, if you buy from some other, they might call an inspector from salalmander to look at the installation, if its not so spec,,tough, no warrantee at all, So screwfix is a good place to buy from on all their products,  |

Its all good info here mate, no bullshit, its real time from them that knows, But I would't like to meet an inspector, he's paid to prove you wrong, that's his job, the last think he wants to do is say his product has failed, Now they are full of shit, they read a lot of books and shuffle paper, push pens and make rules and regs, They are failed police officers, they were not bright enough to be a copper and the traffic wardens job they had meant too much walking, but they wanted a job with authority, That's the mentality of every inspector,Clark of works, project manager,site agent and quantity surveyor I've ever met and are down in the list of groups as,

plumbers,,, a gaggle of plumbers,
electricians a shower of sparks
inspectors a bunch of wankers
joiners a forest of wood butchers
plasteres a Dollop of mess makers
