it was a joke. Like others have dpsaid all trying to catch you out. I’m certainly no safer after it
and I’ve never fitted serviced or fixed a water heater in my life and I don’t intend to start.
Dick - we had to do controls but it was question ie a description of a control and you had to identify it
i certainly wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. We couldn’t take phones in...they locked them away so we had to work everything out manually

Hi lads I need a rant, been away all week in Somerset retaking my acs. What a load of bollocks theyre not looking at safety it’s can you read a question then waste 20 mins looking through various British standard documents to find an answer on what Nov is required on a shared duct flue.......utter bullshit wasted hours on water heater....never fitted, fixed or serviced one. so when I passed today , it hasn’t made me a safe gas operative , it has made me a bookworm that can find an answer to a crossword style question. Waste of a week every five years. got my f gas next month and my commercial in July.....so if I’m on here talking more balls than usual in August , you know why After passing the acs assessment apparently they can now call you to do an additional course (every 5 years say) which is is all about flues with shared ducts something that most engineers will never do - what a money making racket it all is and all in the name of H&S. |

he was mate,He's one of those blokes who's never done the job, always been a teecher, right PITA, the one after that I went to a centre in Bolton, they have moved now to Chorley and they are good lads there, they help you and not out to catch people out, Chorley is great, jed is a scream👍Or jeb ! i can never understand his accent😆only reason I didnt go back there ,was they were booked up 8 weeks and overlap was too big, definately try and get back there on next one( pie van at lunchtime what more do you want?) |

Last year whilst doing my unvented I became aware of a rather worried looking Indian guy in another room sat all on his own. I guessed he was re-sitting the acs exam. A short while later his assessor came into our class with his paper saying to our assessor "I don't know what to do he's got more wrong this time than he had on the last paper"!  "Just tell him that he needs to have another good look through the book before he attempts the answers on the paper" said our assessor. Gas in safe hands eh! |

Yes crows foot, thinking about it , there was a fair few questions on shared flues and she ducts . Thing is like you say, it’s very specialised and really only concerns specifies like architects etc. It would be a minority of lads get into this stuff

How’s trick questions going to help you learn, it’s complete ballox!!! To be honest I’m looking forward to it, it’s a load of shite but keeps life interesting. I’m going with 6 other house bashers & they’re shitten themselves😀😀😀😀😂😂😂 The Company is paying & I know they’ll pass even the most ‘hard of thinking’. Looking over my notes from 5 years ago, there was very little on controls even then.
Not bothered about it, but as said, I’ll do some studying on anything I think they’ll cover.
I still may do my F Gas BD & move to a warmer climate like Spain or the South of France, Olive likes France & the bevvy is cheap🍺🍺🍻🍷🍷🍷🥃🥃🥃🥃😜
