ah the thrill of cutting a live pipe, The last one I did was a leadpipe, I was putting a new stoptap on because it was a shared main and the street stop tap had been buried under tarmac and no one knew where it was, The old stoptap in the house was just above the floor and it a fitted kitchen, My only access was under the plinth, lied on my stomach with outstretched hands and I knew I was going to get soaked, I was not wrong, but it was a summers day like today so not too unpleasant, I went prepared with a towel and change of cloths so I drove home dry and happy that I'd had a good day,

there was no other option glowbug, I warned the lady is was going to get wet so we blocked the kitchen doors to stop the water spreading she was there mop and bucket in hand, as i sawd the lead and the water hit the worktop she screamed out loud, When you get to that stage you have a tiger by the tail and there's no way of getting out of it, adrenalin kicks in and you just have to do it, It went as planned realy, I knew it was going to be a toughie before i started, you either go for it or walk away, The reward of getting a hard job done is very rewarding, I did't stop shaking for half an hour after, and it was't cos i was cold,
