Does any other manufacturer other than Ideal Standard have the splits in the spline at the top of the valve under the tap head?

I can't say I've noticed battle, i don't fuck about with taps, its not worthwile, I quote for new taps, the time you can spend reseaching and sourcing the products makes the job uneconomic

I don't think so mate. I'll happily replace tap inserts if they're common, but when (like ideal standard) the manufacturers make it so you have to buy the spares off them at silly prices, I'll try to convince the custard that new taps that are easily serviceable are the best course of action. Do you need them with a split so the plastic adapter will fit on?

No not for the plastic adaptors just the customer has a sentimental attachment to the valves and wants them fixed but I've had hassle before off a basin valve which took the piss - was a high performance valve if I remember correctly.

Aah right, well maybe time to add the price of an easy tap splitter and some overpriced valves to the bill

Fiited the incert cartridge - little bit hassle separating the component parts but that's life. Sockest for Ideal Standard cartridges is the Wolseley Group (who had the item in stock £8 ish) so for any one else here's their reference guide for the typical tape range Attachment Deleted
