The set up gives balanced hot & cold
Does the kitchen still come off of the mains or does the main go straight to the combi valve?
How about toilets?
Cheers all

The kitchen tap is usually unbalanced rocky and the rest of the system is balanced

Toilets will all be on mains rocky if you are converting over a vented system to unvented you may have to upgrade the fill valves if they can't cope.

Cheers
It’s as I thought
Someone said to me he puts toilets off the combi valve. I thought that was strange. He also said the kitchen too.

Cheers It’s as I thought Someone said to me he puts toilets off the combi valve. I thought that was strange. He also said the kitchen too. Normally the main will rise near or under the sink and will feed the kitchen tap before it rises further up into the airing cupboard where it then gets balanced for the rest of the house, I can't see why they would take a balanced feed back to the kitchen tap.

I agree. Also if that combi valve fails does it stop the flow of cold? I know in my flat the hot stopped but kitchen cold was mains as normal. Surely if the cold flow stops you must have one off the mains I.e kitchen

The group valve normally fails on the prv letting too much pressure past, you can get reduced flow if the strainer is blocked.

For Unvented I’d normally fit a 3Bar pressure reducing valve on the incoming main. Then the whole house is at the same pressure. OK there’s another valve on the cylinder, but it’s just easier.
