This is how I keep the bolts in place on a close coupled kit, wrap a few winds of ptfe tap around the square block on the bolt and it wont fall out. Attachment Deleted

You gotta use what's around ya, niceone tom, probably I applied that method from your top tips without realising . Do you pull all the toilet tissue off the roll first then when you finish their toilet they have a shit and realise there is no tissue and strangley enough no cardboard roll either.

I stuff the bog roll between the cistern and the pan to stop the dounut from leaking.ππππ

I do similar,but with folded bog roll.π© Like it. Always use the custard's materials if you can.
Another thing I do if I'm removing the big plastic nut that holds the siphon and metal plate on if I'm removing siphon. I always draw a line on the bottom of cistern around the metal plate. So when I come to reassemble, don't have to faff around lining the plate up. Plate goes on in exactly the same place it came off, and everything goes back together easily.
