Hello
I Have potential 2 port valve swap.
I believe I can just do the head?
If so, is it easy?
In what circumstances would the whole 2 port need replacing & I take it the system needs draining?
Never done one so keen to know & do it
Thx all.

you can change just the head but make sure its the same make/model, the wires are not all the same, To change the full valve you need to drain if you're confident, use bungs, draining off can lead to air locks,

It’s a danfoss so should be readily available. When you say the wires are not all the same can you explain? If I swap like for like they should be the same or not?

If the main valve is stiff to move then that is what burns the synchron motor out.

If I swap like for like they should be the same or not? there are normally 5 wires, live, nuetral, earth, and two more, they can be, red and white, or orange and white these two do the same job, the microswitch makes them or breaks them, So i don't want to confuse the issue and its just easier if the colours are the same, oh and some don't have an earth,

Danfoss don’t have earths
as said I normally change it all unless it’s a nightmare and I’m really frightened of air locks and know I’ll struggle to get it clear again
