The trv is letting by when the pin is down. I’ve left the top off until I can go back.
It’s on a combi so draining & refilling no problems, it’ll be good experience too just to do it.
I need to swap some bleed vents while I’m at it.
How about snatching it on a combi?
Cheers all

turn the rad valves off at both sides, open the air vent to let the pressure off, then its piss easy,,

Are the valves usually the same size. I mean will they usually connect up without adjusting the pipe work?
I think they are but just checking

Mostly it's a straight swop rocky although some do need the pipework altering a bit.
Are you planning to change the nuts and cones as well?

you can get caught out on that one rocky, Some of the old 15mm valve don't have the same thread and even if the do the cone sometimes dont sit in the valve proper and you get leaks, I ALWAYS change nuts and cones plus a smear of paste,

If you switch the flow and return off under the boiler drain about 1 little out of system you will create a vacuum in the system, to work on. Just work on one side at a time 👍🏼. Or just drain down as you say, piece of piss👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I don’t want issues with the thread etc. It’ll take more time but that’s the way it is. It’s all modern so not worried.
