The pipe fitting company who I'm working for at the moment have a company policy not to use rubber lined clips on copper pipe as they can corrode the copper if they get wet. Has anyone else heard of such nonsense before? We must use brass rings instead of rubber lined clips which seems so old school to me... Thoughts please Gentlemen...

Push fit has a rubber seal and we use that on copper pipe so my theory is that is bollocks mate.

Very good point well made there! Oh I forgot to add that that they claim that the pipe lagging they've used has caused a reaction once wet. I've never seen this or heard of this before.

Get the specification on the clamps your using and if they say don't use with copper then that mans right but I've never heard of any such advice and I've seen load of copper pipe work passing through rubber transit blocks.
