Hi Do any of you know the make of this oil boiler? Also where will the photocell be? cheers Hi knobby, doesn’t matter about the boiler manufacturers. It’s a Riello Burner, so the photocell is attached to the control box. The sequence of firing will generally determine what’s faulty. If you’re a DaftyDIYer you’re wasting your time, get an Oil Engineer in to fix it.

Cheers Mate
Well I suppose I am a diyer with oil. I was just after cleaning the photocell because I was told that they are supposed to be cleaned regularly.
I just thought if it was easy to get to then I’d do it, but am not gonna bother if I need to strip half the boiler out.
Thanks for the reply.

They don’t need to be cleaned if the boiler is running nice , clean and lean. More important to change the nozzle , flex, hoover it out, check the vessel and then test and adjust the co ratio with an analyser tbh
