Turn both valves off and remove vent plug, screw in a rad tail with hose attached and then open one valve let it run for a minute, then turn that valve off and repeat with the other valve.....jobs a goodun !!! If you have the old type vents you can attach the hose directly to the rad valve and do it that way. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted.

Hi Bearwood here. My method for dealing with problem air locks is to cut a few joists out, to gain access to the pipe work. Cut the pipe work and solder it back together with one of those neat little slip ring thingummydoozers. repair the joists with some scrap plywood and a generous lashing of caulk. All while wearing my handy led light and film it with my great little camera. Ooh, have some water on standby as you don’t want any timber catching fire when you’re using the blowtorch.
Cheers BB

I prefer BB's method. Will take a little longer, but definitely more thorough.

I like that soldered rad valve extension piece PB. Tin it well and we've no need to buy those chrome radiator extension pieces anymore!!
