So I found out today that you shouldn't use plastic pipe on domestic hot water with a secondary return. How can this be if you can use plastic on heating circs? (Barrier pipe of course.)
Thoughts please ladies and gents...

I was told "Most plastic pipe is not rated for secondary returns, (and most manufacturers specify this in their small print) Secondary return is very different as it must withstand hot water for a much longer period of time than a boiler circuit; potentially 24/7"!
So basically to give unrealistic life time warranties the manufacture reduce the time it's stressed for at temperature as a get out clause!

yep, battle is correct, this first happened on a 'acorn' installation, Acorn was the first major plastic pipe manufacturer, So when this was found to happen, they closed, reformed as Hep20 and made new instructions about secondery return systems,
