I’ve been buying few gas bits & bobs, usually from BES.
Screwfix won’t sell me any gas stuff, even the yellow gas tape as I’m not gas safe.

I've never been asked to prove I am gassafe, ?? and i could't now because I let it all go, When I was 63 my acs needed renewing and i asked how much is it for 2 years, I don't need the full 5 year period, they said there's no facility for short terms, its 5 or nothing, So i said stick it then, smiley-taunt005 show bum

Sounds like there must be a real jobsworth in the Screwfux that Rocky uses. Never heard that one. Though I did hear that Parts Centre wouldn't sell boiler parts and gas stuff to non gassafers. That might be the policy, but no one ever checks. Anyway, it's out there cheaper on t'internet, Ebay, etc to anyone who wants it - so who cares?

I tried on the website to buy & collect It said I couldn’t buy gas fittings as my details as a plumbfix member didn’t show my gas safe stuff Maybe they don’t ask if you buy in the shop They’re loss. I only wanted a few little bits, meter caps & a gas iso!

That's strange. I have an account with them, but a general one, not Plumbfix. I tried click and collect for a gas cock and cooker hose at my local branch. No problem - got as far as asking for my card details. Didn't actually order them, but it was saying the items would be available in a few mins. Odd that you're Plumbfix and stop you having gas stuff.
Could be worth you trying Toolstation. I use them as much as possible as they're usually cheaper and deliver orders over 10 quid. Just avoid their Silverline shite.

Not sure but if you have a plumbfix account you can get served at the trade counter to avoid the queues. To get an account you need to show your quals.

I've been in plumbfix and seen diyers buy a 'bendy thing that goes under a bath' obviously not a plumber, So the jobsworths don't work in every screwfix, In Wigan branch they serve anyone because sales matter, they have interbranch sales figures and bonus are awarded, I hate little Hitlers telling who can and who can't but stuff, I'd fucking tell him/her, they don't know a termacouple from a telegraph pole and telling us the rules, kick-in-the-balls

Well, the shoe size I give may be the correct one. As for the rest..................
