With tools like that you can have so many near misses and think your the luckiest guy in the world and one day you aren't lucky and end up in A&E. I was yanking off a shower screen with a claw hammer and it came off all of a sudden and brought some tiles with it stuck to the back broken and razor sharp, I ran my wrist over one and it sliced deep into my wrist.

So easy done and for the next two weeks every job you do has the red dot of approval.

Right thanks a lot for you answers Tom - I finally got around to doing the work yesterday. As usual, my soldering is a bit of a mess but at least I'm starting reliably solder without leaks (usually by adding more and more solder until I'm really sure....!) www.dropbox.com/sh/ye9ig2hf2420c1g/AAClKTZLUTpBq9lokhcXFtE3a?dl=0By the way, here is an example of why I don't mind being called "dafty" (haha). So after soldering about 18M of pipe in the main loft and doing my usual air testing (which actually seems quite useful but not sure it would find a slow drip type of leak?) I covered all the pipes with pipe insulation and then covered them all with loft insulation. Then I realised I hadn't even tested them properly yet with water. What a Dafty !! So I had to go back and remove a fair bit of the insulation and test again and because I'm lazy also I didn't inspect every joint that carefully - just pointed a torch around and checked the ceilings underneath. Guess I'll know soon enough.... P.S. I added a link back to here from the doughnuts forum. I'm not 100% sure on the rules their but I can't see how I could be accused of directly promoting this site since all I've done is to let folk know that if they want the answers to those questions they are right here. If you can see it, my original thread is here: www.diynot.com/diy/threads/two-random-questions.510404/
