This was a job I did at an old cottage, the job was to replace an internal stop cock but first I had to find the external one and plumbing is like playing detective sometimes any way I found it and tidied that up as well. This job was done about 2/3 yrs ago, I'm sorting through old work pictures. Attachment Deleted

Certtainly tidied it up, but more importantly made it easy to find. No point in ripping tap and supply pipe out if it's all ok. Everything else is probably getting on a bit anyway in a place like that.

Did you build a brick/concrete frame to house the cover on?

Did you build a brick/concrete frame to house the cover on? No need for that rocky the Hepworth lid and frame sit on a riser, the risers come in sections and you build up the height you need. The bottom of the riser I filled with a dry mix of concrete about 100mm deep.

I once on an evening job had my key in the pavement and was turning the water back on and thought this is winding a good few turns open and then hear gushing water so I threw myself to the floor and realised I was backing off the valve body which must have been loose, I reckon one more turn and she would have blown. I only went to fix the bastard bath taps.

When the smiley-whacky086 fan shit it happens quickly, I've had an internal stopcock blow off on I cut above it to install a bypass set for a water softener and then the fucker blow off. I've also had a few isolation valves go on me.
