I’ve been reading an interesting thread on a FB Page about condy pipe bending. The methods of bending varied from using a 22mm bending machine to a 20mm Sparky’s conduit bending spring. Heating the pipe with a blow lamp or even rubbing it with a paper towel!! All very interesting, what method do you chaps employ??
Perhaps Tom would do a video of the best, easiest & quickest method??
Oh, we’re not talking about full 90degree bends, just wee kicks & offsets👍👍

to be honest Dick I used to use elbows, 45's and 90's because I've never quite got a good bend, I've got it too warm and scorched it and kinked it and ripped it, so in the end i gave up trying to bend it, the elbows are only pence and look much better than uneven bodged up bends,

Have you not got an old 3/4" imperial bending spring kicking about from your days of the Bunnet and bib and brace overalls Dick, worth a try.

Have not tried it for a while, but I did a wee offset today just using my Hilmor bending machine👍 Just over bend it & hold it for a wee while.

just measured a cutting of overflow with a digital vernier caliper and the ID is 19mm so an old spring wont be far away.

I use my hot air gun and hover the pipe over its and turn it like a spit roast? and when its ready I gently form a bend and then spray it with cold water, same with waste pipes when you need a 5-10 degree bend.

Yes, easy enough to do, but as said before it's time consuming.

Seen someone years ago do plazzy overflows and waste with sand. Think he warmed it with hot air paint stripping gun rather than torch. Mind you, he was a bit OCD. And slow. Just as well his surname was 'Still'. We used to call him Stan.
