Yes, it’s a nasty job!
Anyone ever unblocked one?
I’ve fitted / replaced 2 but never unblocked one.
It won’t be cheap chaps.
Cheers all

Done this a few times when I worked in't nursing home rocket. Took the saniflo outside (after dissing it from electrics and plumbing) Right messy job, stinks to high heaven, but doable. What happened in the nursing home was people flushing pads down the bog. Paper it can deal with but a pad the size of ten babies nappies is a bit too much for the cutters to deal with.

Yeah, I reckon it’s wet wipes. Not a pleasant job but ok for enough £££

Actually takes longer to remove the saniflo from the plumbing and electrics than it does to clear the blockage rocket. Top just simply lifts off after undoing the built in catches on either side. Just remember where all of the seals go when you put it back together. (yep, wet wipes too are something the saniflo can't deal with)

It's like the pub job I was on about recently - unblocking urinals. Nasty job, and I'd rather be changing a rad valve for old Mrs Miggins while she puts the kettle on. But I make sure they PAY for it.
Where there's shit (or piss), there's brass.

I've heard that solid cyrstalised piss is more or less the worse smell you ever smell in your life.
I tried to fix a blocked saniflo once that had been pumped with caustic soda, I think I was sick in my mouth a tiny bit, spend two hours with it, put it back in and it still didn't work. Never again.

"Caustic soda"; that's a favourite with the OAPS , only trouble is, is that it tends to all stick together in a solid lump forming something like end-feeds lemonade lollipop!

I'd remove the whole unit then put it in a heavy duty garden bag and take it to a manhole near an outside tap. Lift the manhole cover and blast away the shit with the water jet from the tap. Then clean up the mess round the bog with disinfectant. Most unpleasant job that I can think of in plumbing. Wear a face mask doused with Brut aftershave (it helps).
