Today I’ve screwed up, many times
I went to fit 7 toilet roll holders in an office block, the stainless steel type industrial things, measured & drilled, all off Plumb!
Used a level, took my time, screwed up.
Then I went to change a door lock for an old chap, bought one £20, fitted it then realised it was a star lock thing & not a key so I’ve lost money there.
Job I did yesterday, woman hasn’t paid me the balance, it’s a rented house with 7 rented rooms. Modern town house. I turned the water off. I’m expecting a phone call soon as it’s got a combi boiler.
Feeling very pissed off indeed
Cheers all

If its any consolation I came to the board thinking I'd need a new thread but this one first perfectly. Like a total fking twat I backed up into an acrow1 (not in use at that time) and the bastard fell onto my newly plumbed and leak tested shower tray!!! Of all the fking things it had to be a great weight of steel with fairly sharp edges The main good news is that it had a sheet and wifes old gym mat (they are useful aren't they) and it looks like there is only a small chip about the size of a penny (looks like a couple of deep scratches but don't think it can be a crack since it doesn't extend anywhere?). I still can't belive iut didn't smash it to bits especially since the matt wasn't covering all of it and I think I only had a sheet over the chip (can't remember what was where exactly coz I was panicking!) I'll post up pictures later to show I'm not bloody making this up. Isn't there some resin or something that can be applied like filler on trays? If there is, could a dafty like me manage it without making more of a mess?

Dafty you've won the ' that takes the buscuit' shirt, I can't think of anything worse than a cemented down brand new shower tray getting fucked before its even got used,

I’ve had a text message saying the house has no water. The tenants have returned from work & it’s dry like a nuns chuff.
I’ve told her I can go & look but it’s £120’call out.
Her choice. I don’t give a fuck.

When I was an apprentice my boss plumber told me a story about when he was an apprentice they were going through a slack patch workwise and had no work! So his boss went round at night turning off his customers water supplies at the boundary stop taps, the next day they were very busy turning them all back on again !!

And here is my proof of my fkup today.
Part of the reason it happened is because the other side of that tiny room with all the props and knackered wall is because of a roof leak going on for years. I've fixed that but need to rebuild the wall. I should have done all that before thinking about getting the tray down but I didn't know what lay behind the plasterboard on that fked up wall.
Is there anything I can do (that doesn't involve replacing the tray) ? No such "polyfilla" for trays exists?

Balls. Well I think the chip/scratch is cosmetic? I should have cleaned around before taking the pic but most of the marks there are dirt - just the scuff on top left of tray. If I have to take that tray out....OMFG.... And I guess apart from it being stupidly expensive something like this wouldn't work: www.toolstation.com/shop/p70918 ?

I dunno dafty, I've never tried it, If you're happy with it as it is, why worry, as long as there are no sharp edges to cut flesh, go with what you have, what ever paste/filler you use will show up bigger than the marks you already have, set your mind to, not looking down and it will be ok, there are no shower tray police that call round inspecting them,
