We all know what a versatile tool a Wet n Dry vac is, used most days by many of us. Under 30 quid can get you a life saver tool, something that’ll get you out the shit & enhance your reputation as a first class Tradesman. So, add you tips here chaps.
I’ll start, and frankly it’s one of the many. Standard vented copper HW cylinder, but no drain off valve. You could siphon it out the top, but that takes time. The customer has been quoted £150, by several others, to fit a drain valve on the cold feed to the cylinder.
OK, you want out of there in an hour tops! Charge them £60 & you’re their ‘Plumber’ for life. Here’s how, turn off the cold feed to the cylinder at the gate valve or bung the cold feed at the header tank(use your Professional Judgement here). Disconnect the Hot Draw off at the top of the cylinder & stick your hoover over the connection, you don’t want a 100% seal as you may implode the cylinder, cut the cold feed, fit a tee & drain valve. Reconnect, turn on & job done Kerching, Kerching 💷💷💷💷💷💷😎😎😎😎
No air in, no water out, one of the many Plumbers’ Golden Rules!!! Have a wonderful Boxing Day guys, take some Paracetamol & drink plenty fluids👍👍👍

Anyone ever use one of these when there's no drain off? And then replace with a proper drain off. DP's way is much quicker but just curious. www.amazon.co.uk/Self-Cutting-Drain-Valve-Adaptor/dp/B0759T65TGSelf cutting things are usually shite and make the flow really slow. Would probably take hours for the cylinder to drain with this.

Wouldn't leave one in full time though.👍👍👍👍
