Good luck with it Rocky It hasn’t gone well PB It’s a tight bathroom & fully tiled. Old bath snapped in half when I stood in it so that was easy to remove. Removed 1 row of tiles but new bath would go in, removed a second row & a few above cracked. 1st issue. Got new bath, as it had legs the pipes were in the way. Sorted that out then the bath waste wouldn’t seal as it seemed under pressure. Need a flexi or something But to top it off, the tenant messaged me & there’s a crack in the new bath! So, I’m screwed, lost money as I’ll have to replace it. Totally fed up Knocked my confidence this has Just seriously thinking of throwing in the towel & getting a job, any job, easy job as minimum wage. Fed up

Cheer up Rocky ! Don't let it get to you, we've all been there mate and we know how it feels. My advice is : if you look at these jobs and think it's going to be a problematic nightmare then walk away from it, don't think to yourself oh it's a job. Go with your gut feeling as it's usually right and better to sit at home and earn fuck all than do a job that can start costing you money. You work for yourself and that means you're boss and you dictate what work you want and don't want, never be pressured into anything. I turn loads of jobs away throughout the year not because I can't do it but because I choose my battles and you get no thanks from these people for sorting problems out but loads of grief when things go south. I'm far far far from the best plumber in the world but I'm a happy plumber in control. Remember : Problems find you without taking them on.

Crack in the second bath too? Is he a sumo wrestler or something? Or has he chucked an acrow prop in like I did to my own shower tray?
And I hope you don't consider jacking it in too. You're obviously a competent and conscientious plumber.

Rocky, PB's advice is on the money and being quiet is so difficult to deal with but losing money is even more difficult.
As for the crack in the new bath it could easy be a mark so don't let your mind run riot until view it, as you would on noticed a defect during your instal.
So wait till tomorrow and try to have a good nights sleep mate.

I had a brutal day last week rocky too - everything that could go wrong did and more.
I was at my wits end!!
I'm an employee so it must be far worse when your self employed.
Tomorrows a new day though and things should get better for you then.
Never used those kits so do let me know what they are like.

Rocky don't let the tenant wind you up about the crack, see if your supplier will stand on for a replacement bath, cause the repair could mean no payment from the LL if the tenant isn't willing to sign the job off. Additionally, it's easier to replace the defective bath now before tiling etc.

I won’t tile until I know if it’s fixed or replaced.
