The only time I've done this before the pipe seized in seconds giving me almost no time to line things up. Got to do a little more though soon.
Are there any tips to give yourself more time? Maybe I didn't use enough of the sw glue or something?

yea it bites in quick, a lot of glue helps it gives you a few seconds thats all, have a few dry rehearsals then go for it,

As Tom says, dry run & make sure it fits before you glue

If I've got any tricky angles and the working space is tight, I mark up the dry fit positions with a combo of masking tape and black marker pen (all out of the way of the gluing area) I've not mastered the art like some others DD but it pays dividends for me.

Dry run is a great idea but make sure you don't end up like this guy!! Aeroplane

I sometimes mark as well on each fitting so when it goes together the 2 marks join up & you know its where you set it out

Many thanks for the tips guys. No problem Dafty, happy to help........oh ooopppsss, I didnโt!......๐๐๐ That's ok Dick, I'll give you another chance hehe. I'll be shortly closing up and then tiling over my concealed cistern. It definitely feels wrong to use a flexi tap connector in that situation since zero access. But why should I not use one? Surely if it doesn't leak on day 1 it'll be good 5 years later?
