Nice photos DD. That roof space looks very tight for working in! Good "lap over" too on those tiles you shouldn't get any water getting through that seal.

Thanks again for all comments, encouragement and advice ! I'm a bit embarrassed because its not finished and might turn out to be crap or knowing me I'll have forgotten about something major which will ck it up. For tanking I used Everbuild's Aquaseal. I doubt its the best on the market since I think its the cheapest but surely is better than nothing? I do wonder though about tanking though - its all advised these days but what happened before that? I also used nothing fancy for the boards - just green plasterboard. The reason was one wall is rendered plaster onto brick and its about 20mm thin in some places. Its sound but if I removed it and put a board there, it would pad out further and the alcove was already tiny so every cm mattered. So I thought if I'm tiling on plaster on one wall I may as well not fork out for marmox or wedi or whatever on the other wall. I did check the tiles would be less than around 20Kg/m2 so hopefully won't pull the plaster off.... Yes roof is tight - I added that access hatch so at least I can get to the pump, fan and electrics from below. By "lap over" was that a polite way of saying I was using a large silicone seal especially on the walls? Again embarrassed to admit that in one or two places the tiles were quite far apart (not where meet the tray just on the walls in the corners) so I flooded the gap and use a 12mm profile. Yep, digital box in the roof space. Its a Mira Mode digital. For about £600 it sounds like a lot of money - well it is a lot - but for that you get the box, main shower, handshower, all the fixings which includes a lot of brass and chrome and some plastic (mostly speedfit) plus two user interfaces which I think look pretty cool, nicely boxed with mostly good instructions and video. Thanks once again to all for support and for help in some of the other threads I've created !

T.M.I DD! I was actually complimenting you on the tiles having a good lap over onto the tray (some I come across don't have any). It's the biggest cause of all my "water coming through my ceiling jobs".

Ahhh got you. Funny to think there's daftys out there more daft than me who would tile first and then drop in a tray.
And yeah, I can see why not too many folk would be interested in the thickness of my silicone lines.... On the other hand there's now 2 threads on the subject.

Thought I'd update my thread. Its basically finished but wife has said "can we have a towel rail...." (FFS !!) The main problem there being the wall is already plastered+painted and the wooden batons are not in the right place so would need new noggins. Also the flow/return would be coming from the other side of the wall and we still haven't planned how that is going to work yet so don't want to commit to pipework which would need to run across floor with seperate floor and ceiling joists plus one joist with a steel hanger type of thing so a lot of work (for me anyways). Skirting also needs to go on and a silicone in some areas could be better. (I learned that the profiling tools won't work properly if siliconing against painted wall because they can't scrape it off so next time will use masking tape). Definitely a very long way short of perfect but better than my previous attempt some years ago and best of all, everything level and plumb, structurally sound and no leaks or blockages ! Also the shower is really good (mira mode) and I'm also impressed with the bog. Wasn't that expensive (need to check) but with soft closing seat and "rimless" (gimmic but works well) clears out everything well. Rak was the brand - I think they're big in Dubai and middle east. www.dropbox.com/sh/tmk5r0onwfxqt1z/AABg-KPG5NwKNbeUtGFkule5a?dl=0Excuse the clutter in some of the shots. Edit: Sorry I should have said (hopefully goes without saying) thanks a lot to the many professionals on this site that have helped me with this!

I like those toilets. How much weight can they take?
I’m only asking as if you invite an Indian for tea & they need a number 2 during the visit then I’ve heard they kind of crouch on the pan with there feet up!
It looks great

Geberit claim 400Kg but no doubt that is in lab conditions. I think it mostly depends on house strong are your fixing points. Mine was build partly inside a stud wall and I used quite a lot of 4x2. If I put all my weight on it I don't hear any kind of creaking or cracking - I'm 100Kg in new money. I got this one. Not that cheap (not the most expensive either) but for what you get I'm happy with it and I reckon down here there's plenty of folk who would pay a premium for a bog like that incl soft closing seat etc. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LYEZFUZ
