Further to Tom’s very informative video below I messed around with my Chinky Swaging tool & did this. Still to be brazed up, but was very quick in forming & I think will be easy to complete. Just another way of adding to Tom method; Oh by the way, I sneaked into Tom’s Tavern when him & the wife were down Asda. I’m back there again tomorrow for the free Beer👍👍 Attachment Deleted

Great work, Gents - thanks. Thanks for taking time to do the vid too, Tom.
Tom - never done any brazing. What rods do you use? Is it an easy skill to pick up and is it quick to learn or does it need lots of practice like welding.?
Dick - could you expand that 15mm pipe if it was in situ, say clipped against a wall? Or do you need to get all round the pipe with that swaging tool?
Harry - don't know why I put this name here. Just seemed to fit somehow. Do we know any Harrys?

Socket forming with the Chinky Swaking tool you do need to rotate it, so in-situ it would be of limited use. These are the rods, you need to get the pipe & fittings Cherry Red before the Rod will run, very easy to do. MAPP Gas is great for the heat as Tom states👍 rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302309891328

Woodbine, I do a lot of brazing on the refrigeration circuits. I use the rothenburger rods with phosphorus for copper to copper. There are all different rods for different metals. It’s a slightly more difficult than soldering because the heat is really important. It can get tricky outside on a cold damp day. Because the rods don’t run like a solder you need to equal it all about the joint
i enjoy it personally

Thanks for all the advice. May get some rods and Mapp and have a play. Never know when it will come in handy, and will be another string to my bow.
