So my newly installed geberit cistern seems to leak about a teaspoon full per day into the pan inlet. I guess if the pan was fitted I wouldn't know but since its brand new and not cheap I thought it should work 100% ?
It seals with a fixed rubber seal but also the "flapper" is a separate seal. I don't know which one is leaking. My first thought is to put some silicone or lsx on the fixed rubber seal but not sure what to do if the flapper bit is letting water by.
Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do ?

You've probably got dirt on your "Flapper". Let's get on with Brexit and bring back the traditional syphon & ball valve Flappers I say.

They all do seem to dribble a little DD these continental flush valves, so for me it's the normal, like you said when the pans in no one will notice.
Do the flush valves really save more water though than our good old British syphon ever did is the question we should be asking ourselves after Brexit?

Thanks guys for the possible explanations.
I'm going with Mr Crow because its a brand new flush valve. (Although I did make the very DAFT mistake of not following the instructions and flushing out the pipework before filling the cistern. That said there was only one new soldered fitting since the last pipe flush. I took it out and cleaned the seal anyway).
Interesting your point about saving water if a lot of them leak from new !

Ha Ha , saving water is a joke, so is saving gas, Its all codoligy, (cod) to fool, they are fooling everyone with selling and marketing phrases, a new toilet is no better than an old toilet, they just say, and prove, it is, Its more expensive, thats a fact,

Right, I did some tests to try and figure out what is going on but when I put the flush mechanism back in it fucking leaks a lot more than before !! Maybe a cup full a day which in my book is too much? The seal is a nice brand new 100% clean and smooth silicon washer but it does NOT sit against a flat flange. There is a thin ring of plastic that protrudes - I don't know how they ever thought it was seal? I'll maybe get a pic later. I have a feeling I've done something daft here....

Done some more testing. I think at least the fixed lower seal was letting bye because I put just a small puddle of water in the cistern and some drips went through.
Have attached the basket with the fixed washer and the main mechanism that sits inside the basket.
Maybe something as daft dumb as me not fitting the basket properly in the base of the cistern - it doesn't click in place or anything - just sits in the hole as far as I can see.
Edit: Thinking of putting some bodge material LSX at the bottom but not sure if thats a good idea given I won't be able to clean it off in future (since I can't reach it)

DD why don't you call their technical department with the sealing issue and see if there's a batch problem for the parts your working with, cause it not unheard of poorly manufactured component parts being released for sale - very few manufactures run quality control systems anymore, they just wait for the field test feed back, rather than batch sample testing in house.

Is the flush pipe too long?

Maybe but its mostly integrated into their frame.
I did think about turning over the washer but those "bright" minds at Geberit had the idea to spend money embossing their logo and model number on the other side as a raised surface - maybe its for blind plumbers?
Anyway, the good news is I'm back to a teaspoonful a day which as crowsfoot said is maybe ok.
Still thinking about contacting their tech support just to see what they will say but I bought it off some bloke on ebay so wouldn't fair well if they starting asking about where it came from...
