The 2 immersion thermostats I changed before Christmas have apparently stopped working again. I also changed the cables to the spur for the specified 2.5mm twin core & earth.
Very strange
I’m looking tomorrow.
Any thoughts on this?
Cheers all

Where did you get the new stats from Rocky ? Some makes are shite mate ! If the reset buttons have popped out because of over heat then replace them.

My approoach would be change the immersion heaters, the stats will be included, if that don't fix it, the house has a wiring issue,

They are probably shite rocky . I’ll have a look. What’s a decent make? Backer are alright rocky ! If the resets have activated then the thermostat hasn't shut off at the set temperature 55/60 which means they are not working on the main stat.

Also, sometimes people spur sockets etc off immersion circuits which causes trouble. When we moved into our place someone had put a socket in the TV room which was run from a spur off the immersion circuit and also had the boiler running off the same circuit!!, so when the immersion came on, the 2.5 wire could be used for grilling sausages or keeping gloves warm!! Completely nuts.

I’ve always found Backer ones to be shit. Take them back to SF & get a refund. Go to an Electrial Wholesaler & buy anything but Backer Rocky.
A few years ago they(Backer) had a problem with them, same problem. Like a lot of manufacturers, they’ll not ‘recall’ so you’ve old stock.

Completely nuts. The cut-out is just in series & not sensing current draw etc, it only senses temperature. The fault is they’re calibrated too low & trip far too quickly, even at 60degrees. Technical Term; they’re shite!!
