It says its adjustable to fit an opening of 960mm - 1000mm
Now, without tiles my gap is 988mm. Tiles are 9mm thick and going on either side. Adhesive I planning to use a 10mm square trowel to put on 5mm each side.
So after tiling I make the gap: 988 (original gap) - 18 (tiles either side) - 10 (adhesive either side)
= 960mm
So in theory I should be bang on the limit but if I fk up somewhere by just one mm my door won't fit properly.
Do you reckon it will be ok or maybe I should try and squeeze an extra couple of mils by using an 8mm trowel? Tiles are big though.
Any constructive thoughts most gratefully received !

its an head scratcher, you always need the tiles on first and many times a wall can be a few millies out there is no answer to this question because, you need to do the tiling with a good enough amount of adhesive, Then measure, don't open the shower door until then,

When I tile large tiles I use wide notch trowel, that you would use on floor tiles, and I use adhesive on wall and back butter tile as well. I like to use mapie super flex adhesive... that should make up a few mm,s ππΌππΌππΌππΌ

I'd already bought the (superflex maxi s1) - so sounds like that was a good choice! Are you saying it could go on a bit thinner than a cheaper/crapier adhesive ? And from what Tom says, if I ever do this again, I should ideally tile up and only then spec which door to get?

sorry dafty, I thought you needed to go thicker not thinner, go to the back of the class ! haha - I did wonder what you meant. Oh well, at least it won't set too quickly. I'll be hours pushing and prodding those tiles... To add to the fun the opening is about 8mm wider at the bottom than at the top . What kind of dafty prepped the walls And more to the point what should he do now ?
