I would say any 6 litre flush valve and inlet valve, we all know they are rubbish and waste more water than the old siphons but they are our easy on your way home money.

Air fresheners with batteries in.
Was just working in a bathroom and got squirted 3 times in the face with cheap air freshener while sorting a pop up waste. Smell like a prossies handbag now...

Not sure if this is the worst, but definitely one of the most pointless. Adey have brought out the Magnaclean Pro 3 Sense. It's the basically the same as a standard Pro 2 filter, except it has electronics in it. These electronics link the filter to an app on your phone/pc, so you can monitor how much debris the filter is collecting. There is a car fuel tank type gauge on the app. It then tells you when you need to empty it.
Considering what a simple device a magnetic filter is, it seems mad that it has batteries and wifi. Especially as the far more complicated boiler won't be directly linked via wifi to monitor it's condition or any faults. So, my nomination for the worst/most pointless plumbing invention is the Magnaclean Pro 3 Sense(less).
