That's a 2 way tap stat,I've used the 3 way tap stat and it worked really well👍🏼 great for when no control over hot water.

Good to know. I suppose it saves all the extra hassle involved in upgrading an old installation.

Back in the day they were used as a cheap way to control HW. They may look expensive, but when you consider wiring& piping a Y or S. It’s a cheap way to do it👍

Yes, fairly quick I'd say, cut one pipe and off you go but how long would the head last? Same as a TRV I suppose...

there are still loads of 1980's installs with no control on the hot water, this is a quick fix and a good option because its not worth spending brewsters on a system thats going to get ripped out shortly,

I've never seen one or fitted one before. What do you insert that probe into Cynders?

Probe gets strapped to the cylinder I think and it measures temp to turn on and off the valve.The long narrow copper wire is connected to the probe and valve.
