I used to use the cheapest I could find from toolstation, was about £2 a tube. Everbuild showerproof bathroom silicone. Used it when I redid my bathroom a little over a year ago and I'm starting to notice bits where it has shrunk and there's now a gap. So won't be using it again. I now look at price and just buy whatever's about £4 a tube using the logic of you get what you pay for. I don't have a go to brand now so if anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears.

Some more info here tomplum.boards.net/post/42263/threadFunny how everyone has their own theory and my £4 a tube was why I bought puraflex but after the comments think I'll change to Dow in future. In my view this sort of thing should be taught at school ! "YOu use high modulus silicone for XYZ and some other for that. And you don't use ABC silicone because its crap. Some products contain these chemical additives that have these affects....blah blah" Then everyone would know.

If I’m gluing something I’ll use cheap stuff or CT1 if I like the customer!!
If it’s on show I’ll use Dow Corning
