Ground floor flat, econ 7, hot cylinder with large cwsc above, overflow dripping when hot water on, cwsc gets warm.
I’ve turned stat down to 55 from 70 to see if that helps.
Spoke to Tom
Another other thoughts?
Cheers.

So no coil to be passing, immersions(s) only.. My guess is a mixer tap/shower passing. Ask them if they've had any new taps or any plumbing work done recently. If you hadn't mentioned that the cwsc heats up I'd think part 2 not closing but the fact it's warming up means water's coming up the feed/expansion imo.

Only taps are pillar taps in bathroom & kitchen, electric shower, immersions only.

I've had a twin immersion system fail with one element stuck on causing the tank water to overheat.

On the cheap tariff wired to the lower element, the complete cylinder will heat & therefore needs lot of expansion, hence the header tank heating up. Try dropping the water level in the header tank along with the thermostat setting adjustment. I think it’s expansion water that’s overflowing.

I should add as I’ve just found out, they never use the econ 7, only the boost. The boost is also situated in the lower third of the cylinder.
