Ive got to drain down this, its actually within manufacturers spec(50mm) from floor.. drain off is seized underneath. 2 questions, does anyone know if you can get 22mm self tapping drainoffs? Failing that ,and avoiding freezing and faffing round , the pump is basically sat on floor. Has anyone drained a system through removing pump screw? And putting a fitting in with a hosepipe? If so what size are them pump bleeding screws ?

If the pipework runs up stairs from the boiler and the downstairs rads are on a drop feed (I'm guessing they are) it won't drain the boiler.

Pb is right boiler doc. I need to fit a drainoff , so baxi can carry out a manufacture repair ( heatexchanger👻👻) If I was the baxi engineer Id have swerved it too, drainoff is seized underneath though, so to enable an elderly gent to get his boiler back up and running, I just need to fit a working drainoff by boiler. I was going to fit one on the top pipe nice n easy, but might struggle and install the self tapper low level. Its arriving friday /saturday. Ps If i was working for a manufacterer , and had a job like this (🤬) dropped on me, I would refuse to work on it due to working in a twisting straining motion (elf n safety guv)🤓, m. i’’s recommendations can be very dubious, if you have 8 jobs to do and 4 hours travel methinks🙀

Could that cupboard be taken out glowbug? It might just give you that little bit more room that you need. It still could be a "dish and bucket" drain down job though. I'd think about incorporating the moving of the pump to a more easy access position too because that's going to be the next thing to go (sods law)! Ruddy plumbing

Ruddy plumbing Yes plinth will pop out , side panel is bodged in though, I think this is a perfect scenario for the self tapping drainoff. I will fit on underneath though ,just not to give baxi another swerve option. Its obviously a long awqward job working in stress position. So hopefully baxi will give him 5 hours to do job🧐🧐,

If building regs were fit for purpose surely they wouldn't allow a pump to be buried like that?
