Evening gents. Did a tap service yesterday, just greased up and re-washered a kitchen mixer, looked like a standard budget kitchen mixer like the £30 merchants ones. I've got 2 deep sockets that cover almost all taps I've come across, only the odd designer tap or Bristan with the 2 flats instead of a hex have ever been an issue. But this one yesterday didn't fit either of my sockets. I've got a 17mm and an 18mm. Anyone know what size it was likely to be? Both my sockets were too small, the 18mm felt like it was almost there. I suppose it could have been 19mm but they said the tap was 30+ years old so I'm guessing maybe imperial. Is there an imperial size that is a gnats cock bigger than 18mm?

19mm is 0.7480 inches so it must be 3/4 inch (0.75)

I would agree with cylinderfella but it could be 3/8 Witworth in old money if 3/4 is to slack.
