My pipe bender isn't anywhere near as good as the one below. Its a regular 15mm/22mm pipe bender that definitely needs skill and practice to use. I've used it many times for little bends here and there and mostly do it by trial and error.
Anyway, I tried today bending a Ubend to go round a horizantal 4x2 that I can't access the back of but ended up scoring the pipe with the guide. How to bend one as tight as possible without using elbows?
Edit: It would be great for us unskilled to have a bender like in the video where you can just bend by aligning the marks.

I sometimes make up one of those up fitting whale pumps (suction waste pumps) the least distance between the bends I can get on my bender is around 12".
I wouldn't attempt it with 22mm though.
You'd surely have to soften the pipe first (22mm).

Wow! Thanks a lot for that Tom - I'll give it another go.
I hope you don't completely give up the Tips - they're famous now !

And just to show it hasn't gone to waste (well it won't anyway coz I'm sure they'll be pleanty of others finding this in time), here is my third effort. After the second I started getting pissed off fking up all my pipe. Then I remembered in Tom's clip where he points to that is a critical point where the pipe starts to bend. Anyway here it is. Attachment DeletedAnd why did I want to do it? The existing pipe came out of the floor and into the wall - all visible and probably all done by a "DIYer" who didn't care. Pic shows pipe between joists heading towards stud wall floating above. Needs to join onto the pipe you can see resting on the sole plate. Maybe there's a better way but this should suit me I think (I did dry test it and its looking good so far...) Thanks again Tom !
