Is that your wife in the pics, Dafty?
They've closed my local Wickes due to lack of interest. For last few years, on my rare visits there's been more staff than customers.

HAHA - I wish !
Found myself going to Wickes never for plumbing stuff (I'm sure you'd have a laugh at their plumbing aisle !) but for things like multi-finish, floorboards and general building materials. Quite often they're cheaper than Travis Perkins.

in my neck of the woods, everybody is cheaper than travis perkins, One of my customers works for travis, she gets a good discount, so she supplied the boiler and i fitted it, It was a ferroli cheap shite combi, I fitted it and asked what discount she got, they charged her £600 for a boiler i could have got for £400 from my plumbers merchants, they even rip off their own staff,

The only thing I get from TP is wood -2x4 etc. Their quality is a lot better than Wickes. I think they're mostly setup for big construction companies. Anyone else they happily rip off. Actually, until now, I thought they only ripped off DIYers. Happy to rip off tradesmen and their employees too it seems .

Dead right. Their plumbing prices, especially for fittings and brassware, are hilarious. Now that they've closed my local Wickes I'll have to go elsewhere for some laughs.
To be fair though, their rads are competitive and good quality. I often speced Wickes rads, especially when I needed roundtops.

How about Homebase ? Probably sell you a single spare 15mm olive for 1.99 ..... I bet that 10% discount comes in handy then for the rads - good tip btw .Actually I think I got my cheap vanity unit/sink from them. EDIT: So what do you reckon to my website then? Do you think it will pass Wickes test as being for a genuine tradesman ?

I see Wickes got hauled over the coals by the advertising watchdog the other week. Selling kitchens at a discounted price, after putting the price up. Advertising watchdog said they used unfair practices when it came to flogging kitchens. Making them appear to be a bargain when in fact they were far from it.
