Hi there can anyone tell me what is the smallest size to the wall ( ie ) stand off the wall
the smallest I have found is a radiator known as ( K Rad ) there's is 40mm off the wall
today I went to a job that needs a new radiator conventional type ( compact box type ) and it measures 30mm off the wall
Only thing is I have never seen or know of a radiator that is smaller than 40mm can anyone help please !!!!
with another radiator that is smaller size !!!

is the 40mm from the wall to the outside of the rad ? get a single panel and flip the bracket like endfeed says, it will be a lot less but you might need a longer rad to make up the btu's required,

Hi there
the 40mm measures with the radiator mounted on the wall bracket flipped to shortest size then viewed from top looking
down onto the top of the rad valve then measured from wall to centre of rad valve or centre of radiator valve connection hole
hope you can now understand what I am on about thank you.........

I see what you mean astra, 40mm seems to be a standard size, So you will need to idenify the make of rad and get the same make, model and size or get a standard rad and adjust the pipework to it,

I Agree but there is no markings or anything on the radiator so I am stuffed really wtf
have to try K rad which is the smallest I know which is 40mm and see if I can flex the pipework
or may be try elongating the holes in the floor to try and get more movement ...........
Just thought is was worth asking the question because you never know someone could know of a smaller rad

Why not use a grinder & cut the brackets down to the size you want? Or get 4 small hook type bracket & fix directly to the wall, then hook your rad onto them?

Had to cut 2 brackets both in half once as they weren't long enough for a second hand rad supplied with no brackets. Rad was supported top and bottom by 4 individual brackets. Worked out fine.

I once fitted a skirting heating system (in place of radiators) and it worked very well, perhaps a strip of this could be the answer (it will connect to an existing 2 pipe radiator system) to the problem Astra?
