Have you tried to nip it up?
If it’s the compression end then undo & paste it up.

I would turn off the valve, open tap to check its off, then undo the tap from the nut underneath, this will allow you to lift the tap out and replace the washer, use a fibre washer not rubber in this,

so tom i should undo tap connector and then undo the tap nut pull the tap out and replace washer.

yes this will give you room to get the new washer in, if you just undo the tap connector, you will struggle to see if the washer is split or worn and also getting it out and new one in, with the tap out, it will be much easier,

update thanks to everyone Managed to loosen the tap connector and managed to replace fibre washer as it was damaged. Luckily did it without removing tap as was worried removing tap might open a can of worms. It was very tight and couldn't see what i was doing and did it by feel.No leaks so far and very happy thanks for everyone's help..
