I’m a bit fussy. If the house or people aren’t clean I’d rather them not offer. Sometimes people make themselves drinks & I think it’s very rude indeed if they don’t offer.
I’m interested to see the hints too.

“Is the Kitchen on fire or is it steam from the kettle”? “What comes after ‘S’”? “After I’ve fixed this, I’ll fix your kettle”
Never work on the East if Scotland, they’re miserable cunts & wouldn’t offer you a sniff of their foreskin cheese!!

The old thinking on this was to always say yes to a cupa.
Reasoning being that one day you may really need a cupa and you won't get one offered (because of a previous refusal). Also, you must always say yes because what they are really offering you is their hospitality (a refusal will offend them).
I nearly always say yes and the young apprentice will always say no to the offer. If it's a mucky house it then gives me a problem of the disposal of it (without them seeing me do it), whilst the young apprentice hasn't a clue about what's going off in my mind because he knows of no such old fashioned notions (being from a more modern time)!.

When I used to be on the other side (do my best to avoid getting people in now) I would always be as nice and polite as possible - tea/coffee as standard. My line of thinking was (apart from common decency) if I'm unpleasant or do/say anything to make him feel like I'm superior to him he's much more likely to be even more of a cnt than he might have been anyway lol.
As for East Scotland, I'm thinking about moving there. What's wrong with it? Looks like it doesn't rain much at least !

Hospitality is a big thing in the West & the Highlands, where you could stay as a houseguest for as long as you like. I think it was Charles 1 that introduced Inns into the Highlands, before then it was all down to hospitality of the locals. Chas thought this was breeding rebellion!!

Here's a song about tea.......and other things! I like your thinking Cylidafella but I feel this video playing on your phone in the back ground would do the trick.
