Yet more questions... Is it worth getting a pressure tester? I've seen a few Rothenburgers going cheap, and apart from being anal and wanting to get everything right, I do like acquiring a tool.

I would say yes, they are a great anxiety lowering device, If you're not too confident about you joints, a tester will keep your blood pressure down, I've been in situations when, You turn on the water and all seems well, then you see a drip, and you can here a hiss but can't find where it is, you don't know where to go first, then someone shouts " PLUMBER " oh the joys of plumbing

Somewhere in the plumbing tips Dick made a device out of a car valve and iso valve if I remember correctly - you just use that with a bicycle pump and cheap Chinese gauge off eBay and your good to go for next to nothing.

Thanks tom, I'll get one! I'd happily go with your/Dicks way Battle, but I have a tendency to get carried away with building things... Best I don't get my old dive compressor out and hook it up! I'll bother you all how to use it properly when I get it. At the moment, I'm thinking of capping each run and testing....

I use a cheap air tester but I'm never a hundred percent sure as it always slow leaks. I figure/hope that I'd at least hear a leak and can spray joints Im particularly worried about.
On day I'll get around to testing the tester or maybe buying something better. Have you got a link to the one you've bought or thinking of buying?
Edit I did read somewhere the only sure test is to wet test it but not sure how helpful that would be (let alone the pain or cost of doing it)

Hi Dafty, just eBay surfing at mo. I was wondering about a wet test too, also capping/uncapping the pipes. Maybe one rad and run at a time? Could fill the rad, pressurise, drain and move on? Would help with flushing the system.
