I have just bought a second hand Roca close coupled toilet for my next project-the downstairs loo and I Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted removed the cistern and instead of a doughnut it has a rubber washer I (and none of the plumbers merchants I've taken it to),have seen before-its difficult to see but its a U shape-Im starting to think its just something someone has put in but Id be interested to know

I've seen those before, I was on a council refurb once and all the bogs had those, nightmare to get a seal, we used silicone in most cases,

Up here I would pop into our local hydraulic super market and they'll sell an oring kit which may help out if PBs idea doesn't work out.

Two Plumbers Mate sausages will fix a leak on any doughnut washer. Great stuff & it sticks like shit to a hairy blanket👍👍

Great idea. I never thought of P M for doughnuts. Suppose you could just use P M without a doughnut?

thank you-all good suggestions,I don't think the seal was leaking but now its apart -it doesn't seem to 'sit' right,i will go for screwfix washer but with the plumbers mate sausage backup
