Meeting my mate tomorrow who is a qualified spark. I'll try to remember to ask him.
In general I don't like sparks. Or maybe they are ok I just don't like the industry.
I want a 100a isolator fitted just after the meter so I can upgrade my consumer unit. I could do it myself quite happily but I can't put the seals back on southern electric's fuse carrier after I've cut 'em. What happens when I ask a spark to do it (mate isn't currently registered because he does other work so can't ask him) ? They won't quote me a price for an hour's work tops. Oh no. It has to be well:
"Why do you want it ?". "Is the rest of your installation safe and does it conform to current regs?" etc etc

"Is the rest of your installation safe and does it conform to current regs?" etc etc In our area if you get a smart meter they fit the isolator switch you would like as part of the install for you DD. Also this is FOC so you could ask if your provider offers such a service, up here we mainly use N.Power as the electricity provider.
