Rare occasion I managed to be able to solder two pipes on the bench. Cleaned and fluxed as usual. Fired up my gun and it started spitting. WTF ? Oh I know, I thought, I was down to my last bit of flux using some random brush but remembered I'd bought a new bottle so cleaned up my joints and cut some pipe away for speed, re fluxed and got going again. It carried on spitting with sparks and bit of flame. arrrgghhhhhhh. Then I realised what I'd done ! Maybe pro plumbers go through their whole careers without doing this so d on't see it. Still you must know what I'd done ? While I'm here (I'd had a right fking day of daftiness today) I used the wrong leaded flux on one connector on fresh mains water. Should I spend the half an hour to change it or is one 15mm using leaded just about ok?

the solder will not make that happen, I've mixed lead free with leaded many times with no issues, I'd say a flux problem or shit on the pipe,

Are you using power flux? It’s shite.
Never had it spit at me

No-one's ever going to get lead poisoning from using leaded solder DD. The human body expels lead naturally through your nails and hair.
I agree with tom about the solder spitting.
When disconnecting an already soldered joint it will spit back at you though?

Right sorry I should I have it clear I was trying to have a bit of fun (at my expense) by asking you to guess. Anyway, probably nobody is as daft as I am so nobody has ever done what I did so nobody knew what I'd done. So I have a box with my pipe slices and all other stuff about the same size including consumables. I'd fluxed up with my old "flux" and my new "flux" before realising I was fluxing with solvent cement !!!! Great to hear about the leaded joint - it was only one. All the others were using lead free.
