Got a woman who wants a shower & pump fitted.
She’s got a fortic cylinder!
Any thoughts?
Cheers all

Yeah I saw that PB
I think it’s a risk. Mmmmmm.... it’ll be up to customer, if I do it I’ll get a signed letter from them I think. I don’t need dickheads pretending they weren’t advised appropriately.

I don’t need dickheads pretending they weren’t advised appropriately. I would check the incoming mains for flow and pressure rocky and if it's crap then don't bother because the pump will empty quicker than the mains can fill back up. You could price for an upgrade to an unvented cylinder if location and readings permit.

Trouble is converting to unvented will take the cost from hundreds to maybe a couple of grand. I’ll tell them Tuesday but I don’t think they’ll go for it. It’s their choice. I’m not going to plead!

Though the capacity of the Fortic will always be an issue, you could convert it into a Heat Bank. This would be very successful with a large E7 Fortic cylinder.
With a gas boiler, you could always do what this artisan of our industry has done;
