One question nobody seems to know the answer to but is probably obvious to many (but not me!) is this:
At the join of two boards over a joist, are you supposed to put a screw on the edge of each board or just one through the middle? There doesn't seem much space to get in a screw either side and still hit the joist (and not rip the chipboard) ?

On a suspended wood floor on joists, there will always be movement or bounce. To avoid noise; don’t use nails, use screws & glue.
You want the joists bouncing not the T&G flooringđź‘Ť

It just seems a bit tight to put two in? |

Thanks a lot for that Dick. I'd already put 2 rows down out of 9 and I staggered the screws at the join. From now on I'll just put one over the join (which goes through both coz there's quite a lot of overlap). I'd already used D4 like the one in your link and used pinkgrip on the joists (mainly coz I got 14 tubes for ÂŁ1.20 a tube). Even managed to mark out the pipes below which is more than the original fitters did. This twat over at Donuts has deliberately given me the wrong info I think - we had an argument over a roof about a year ago but thought he'd forgotten.
