Can a waste pipe dead leg cause a bad smell come into a bathroom occasionally but not all the time? If it's still part of a working system then all appliance traps wouldn't allow smells out mate.

Bacteria build up in the Overflows Cinders. Squirt disinfectant down all Overflows & make sure all the traps are full. With our warm homes traps can evaporate their content quickly👍 Charge plenty for me👍👍

the bacteria will breed in a dead leg so its not a good thing to have and if its near a bath or toilet, when the toilet's flushed or the bath emptied, the void with get pressurized and blow the traps or vacuum the traps out, Better to cut it out I'd say,

Thanks very much everyone. Washing machine fine Crowfoot, just occasional waft in bathroom after toilet flush. Think I'll cut out the lazy dead leg that shouldn't have been left there. I suppose double sinks should have separate waste outlets too. The sharing probably helps one to empty the others trap.
