Had an evening callout to an old Vaillant that had low pressure.
Not a gas engi so if topping up wasn't sorting it they were having a cold night.
Anyway, gets there and there's no filling loop, just a brass block between the cold feed and heating return, there was a screwdriver slot between the two connections so in my mind that's the filling point.
Opened it up and heard the water coming in, saw the needle move a smidge, then it stopped. No more pressure coming in and needle showing just above 0 bar.
There was another ISO point further along the filling block so tried that while first point was open and made no difference.
Anyway closed the first valve and had a look round for a braided hose in the old airing cupboard just incase - no joy. Got back to the boiler and opened that first valve again and the same thing happened, a few seconds of pressure and a bit of needle movement.
Ended up doing that a few times over 10 minutes and got it up to half a bar so boiler started working.
Anyone know why it was doing this?
