Mrs Plum has got this idea in her head about having graphite worktops,,,,Oh fuck, I know I'm going to lose the battle, she will win in the end, it just bugs me that the cost will cost me 5 years supply of beer,

Oh sorry Tom, I just wasn't sure coz it seems you can buy "graphite" worktops (whatever they are).
I'm sort of glad to hear that not for your wallet but because I'm soon to order a kitchen from Diykitchens (where else would a DIY Dafty go ?).
I'm not 100% but its looking like a granite or quartz worktop. In converting a bedroom into a bathroom and kitchen I think that will be the only job I would let someone else do from start to finish. Even measuring for it scares me if I make a mistake.
How big will yours be? Will you cut it yourself for the sink etc or pay to have that done? DIykitchens have given me an online quote and its a lot of money but I reckon still less than going to the sharks in the kitchen centres etc.

It will be 3 metrs long and a sink hole cut in it, I won't be cutting it, I'll get it cut and if I make a mistake i'll adjust the kitchen to suit
